Dooars- the foothills of the Himalayas is a very popular tourist spot of West Bengal. Actually Dooars comes from the the word 'Door' as it is the gateway to Bhutan from India. Dooars is divided into two parts, one is Western Dooars and another is Eastern Dooars. Western Dooars is known as Bengal Dooars and Eastern  Dooars is known as Assam Dooars. This place is very famous for wildlife sanctuary, tea garden, river, mountain range etc. Dooars has great natural beauty and famous for it's rich biodiversity and forests.

Attractions Of Dooars : 

Gorumara Park :  The park is famous for One horned Rhinoceros. Elephants and bison's also can be found here. According to a recent census, there are 50 elephants, 19 One horned Rhinoceros, 25 leopards and 300 bison's. The park is covered 79.85 sq. km area now. This park is very popular tourist spot of Dooars. 

Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary : The sanctuary was contructed in the year 1941 to protect wild life. The sanctuary is famous for single horned rhinos, leopards, tigers, sambar, wild pigs Indian bisons, peafowl, barking deer, hog deer etc. River Torsa runs through this sanctuary. 

Samsing: The place is 81 km away from Siliguri. It is a nice cool shady place and can be memorable for nature lovers. It is also knownfor its traditional orange orchards.  

Bindu (The Dot) :  A small village on the India- Bhutan border. Bindu is located on Jaldhaka Dam which is the oldest Hydro-electric project. The place is surrounded with hills and forests. To journey this place can gives you a amazing experience of nature. 

Chapramari :  Chapramari is a popular forest of Dooars. Actually one forest is divide into two parts, one is Gorumara and another is Chapramari. 

Other Attractions are Tode Tanga, Kunjonagar, Chukchuk, Buxa Fort, Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary etc.
