Journey To Kolkata

Kolkata the metropolitan city of India formerly known as Calcutta, the capital of Indian State West Bengal. It is located on the east bank of Hooghly River. Basically, Kolkata is known as the Cultural Capital of India. Kolkata is a mixture of many poets, writers, flim producers and of course Nobel prize winners. Kolkata is also called 'Paris of the East' because there is a happy amalgamation of different types of style, culture, religion etc.

Kolkata is a hot city. So, my advise is to visit the place during Winter Season.

By Air - Nearest airport is Netaji Subhash Chandra International Airport which is located at Dum Dum (17 km away from the main city ). This airport has good connectivity with other states of India and Abroad. It has many airlines which are connected with Chennai, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bangalore, Mumbai, Port Blair etc. From the airport you can take a taxi or bus to reach your destination place. 

By Train - Kolkata has an good network of railways and it is well linked to other cities of the Country. Kolkata has two major railway station, one is Sealdah and other is Howrah. This stations are well connected with other major cities all over the Country. From this stations many super fast trains are available. 

By Road - Kolkata has a good road network with most of the Indian cities of India. The National Highway 2 and 6 are connects the city with other states of India. Kolkata has a big collection of private and govt buses. The Calcutta State Transport Corporation, West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation and Calcutta Trans ways runs regular bus service throughout the city.
