It is a historic Hindu temple located in the city Madurai, Tamilnadu, India. The temple is dedicated to Meenakshi(Parvati) and her husbend Sundareswarar(Shiva). For this reason the temple is also known as Meenakshi Sundareswara temple. Every year 1 million visitors attracts for the annual 10-day Meenakshi Tirukalyanam festival.

Visiting Timing:

You can visit the temple all days of the week, 5am-12:30 pm and 4pm-10pm. Visit duration 2-3 hours. 

Entry Fee:

For enter into the temple there are no any entry fees.

To reach this temple you have to reach Madurai at first. Madurai is well known for tourist spots and well connected with other cities of India. Here also have other attractions- like, Alagir Kail, Thirumalai Nayak Mahal, Gandhi Museum etc.

How To Reach: 


By Air: A domestic airport is located in Madurai at 10km distance. Daily flights are available from this airport to Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore etc. After reach the airport you can take a taxi to reach the temple.

By Rail: Madurai has an railway junction which connected with Southern Railway Route. Regular trains are available from this station to Tirupati, Bangalore, Kollam, Coimbatore, Madras etc.

By Road: Madurai is connected with other major cities of India by 2 National Highways, NH7 and NH45. State transport bus service also arrange the bus services from this place to other.
