Sarnath is a holy place for Buddhist that located east of Varanasi, Uttarpradesh. Previously Sarnath was known as 'Mrigadava' which means 'deer-park'. Both these railway stations are well linked with prime Indian cities via rail network. From Delhi, there are several trains available for Varanasi, like, BSB Garibrath originating from Anand Vihar. Auto rickshaws, autos and rickshaws are easily available from outside of these railway stations.
By Road:
Varanasi has excellence connectivity by road with cities like Lucknow, Allahabad ,Patna, Gorakhpur and Ranchi. A number of state buses and private services including air-conditioned Luxery buses ply frequently from Lucknow to Varanasi. Well-maintained national highways and NH 28 (via Harlalka Road) and NH2 lead to Varanasi from Lucknow, the journey can take around 6 to 7 hours.
